Principal Bernal's Brief - 2/12/21

Dear Lunada Bay Families,

Next week we welcome back to school our 2nd grade families! We are so excited to
have students back on campus. The reopening presentation is available on our
website under News and Announcements.

I want to thank you all for your efforts to protect the health and safety of our
community members. Since our reopening, we have had no incidents of COVID-19
transmission on our campus. We want to keep it this way. This is a direct result of
your honest, respectful and compassionate actions that consider the health and
wellness of all. I truly do appreciate our partnership and I applaud your efforts!

As we head into a three day weekend and approach spring break, please continue to
be mindful of your health status, travel, gatherings and other high-risk exposure
activities that might put our community at risk. If you travel out of state or
internationally, you must self-quarantine for 10 days after arrival and before
returning to Lunada Bay. Unfortunately, we cannot accept a negative COVID-19
test result in place of the 10-day self-quarantine. If you are a family who is
traveling and your child is currently attending in-person school, please contact
Mrs. Leah Maes at [email protected] and your child's teacher so that he/she can be
placed on an Independent Study during their quarantine. An outbreak at a school
will result in school closure, something we all want to avoid.

Health Office Reminder:
Please be sure that if your child needs to take any medication at school, for example
an inhaler or epi-pen, make sure to complete the Request for Medication at School
Form, located on the PVPUSD website under Parents & Students→Health→Forms.

School Spirit:
Our next virtual Flag Ceremony is this Wednesday, February 24th at 10:30 a.m. We
are working on Fitness & Skill for February. If your child is the ambassador, they
will receive a special Zoom link to join me, a special guest, and other students to
share their journals and thoughts on Fitness & Skill. I am looking forward to
meeting with students and hearing all they have to say.

All previously announced awards are available for pick up in our Front Office.
